Match Preview – BHAFC vs Charlton – 05 December 2015

An unbeaten Albion face off against Charlton on this rather windy afternoon. The Addicks are currently dangling one point above the relegation zone with a not so grand 16 points. Brighton will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to 19 games, which would make their eleventh win of the season.

Last 5 games

The Albion have managed 9 points in their last 5 games, meaning they have acquired an average of 1.8 points per game. They beat the leagues best away team Birmingham in a solid 2-1 victory and Championship new boys MK Dons. Furthermore picking up draws against Wednesday, Reading, and Burnley.

Charlton have got 6 points in their last 5 games. Picking up impressive victories against Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham. However they have also lost to Middlesbrough, MK Dons, and Ipswich.

Likely Goal scorers

Many Albion fans will be looking towards clinical striker Bobby Zamora currently 2/1 to score who has single-handedly saved the Albion 6 points this season. Another player to put your money on is young prospect James Wilson. He hit the post after coming off the bench against Birmingham and certainly has the pace and ability to score today.

Charlton will be looking towards goal-scoring midfielder Jackson, who has managed 3 goals this season. Another dangerous player is Ricardo Vaz Te. Signed on a free from Akhisar Belediyespor this summer, the Portugese striker actually scored a hatrick against the Albion at Upton Park during our debut season (a 6-1 defeat if you remember!).

Verdict

Probably Brighton’s easiest opponent (no offence) on paper in this tough December month. If we were to get our first big victory (I mean by at least 2 goals!) this season this would be the game. Remember Charlton haven’t won at the Amex ever. Although there still could be an upset considering they have been able to fend off stronger teams this season.

Score Prediction: 3-1

Albion: Zamora, Wilson, Stephens

Charlton: Jackson
