Albion Positives: 6 good things to remember this season

It is very easy to worry about our promotion hopes after the recent combination of results and injuries however as Albion fans there is plenty to be positive about!

6 positives to remember at the moment

1. New Championship unbeaten record.

After a horrific season last year, the Seagulls managed to go a whole 22 games unbeaten, topping the table for the majority of that time.

2. 5 points off top.

top 4

We are only five points off Boro and four points off Derby – a win on Friday against Wolves could potentially put us one point behind Derby (whilst also pushing us up to third – depending on Hull result).

3. Top 4 halfway through the season.

In May, if you asked me where I would have liked us to finish this season, I would have said 11th. However no one could predict that we would be challenging for automatic promotion come January!

4. January transfer window – signings galore!

Hopefully Hughton will delve into the transfer market to sign some quality replacements for our injury-stricken squad. Another positive, we are the only club to match Boca Junior’s asking price for Jonathan Calleri. Even if we don’t sign the Argentinian striker, I feel like Hughton has someone big ‘up his sleeve’ to really help our promotion hopes.Jonathan-Calleri1

5. Fringe players starting to shine

£1.5 million signing Elvis Manu finally got a substantial amount of game time and looked up for the task. Young centre-back Conor Goldson also looked solid on his first start for the club.

6. Kazenga LuaLua is back soon!kaz lualua

The electric winger started off the season with a bang, single-handedly getting us 3 points vs Forest and scoring and assisting in many of the other games too. He was in the best form of his Albion career, unfortunately, to the dismay of all fans, his yearly injury returned again. What was supposed to be a few weeks turned into a few months however I’m sure his enthusiasm and passion will really help get our promotion hopes back on track.

I admit our form recently has been lacklustre, this combined with seven first team players being injured for long amounts of time does inevitably create discontent among fans. However remember that this season has been incredible thus far, and once we have signed some new players to bolster the squad, we will be on track again!
