Albion fans can feel some comfort after the capture of experienced centre-back Liam Ridgewell. The former Aston Villa, West Brom, and Birmingham defender will be helping the Seagulls from January 2nd until February 13th.
He made a total of 313 appearances in the top flight and the Championship, indicating a clear sign of quality. Liam also has a very good relationship with Chris Hughton.
“I know Liam very well from my time as manager at Birmingham and he is an important addition for us, he will bring extra experience to our defence at a crucial time.”
Ridgewell captained Portland Timbers to the MLS title last month – a clear sign of a leader, he will be a worthy replacement for injured Uwe Huenemeier and will give Hughton even more options. He can also play left back which is great for us due lack of depth in that position at the moment.
His earlier tweet confirmed the transfer, “Really happy to have join Brighton looking forward to the games coming up. Thanks for all the good tweets”.
